Balochistan Agriculture College, Quetta
The Department of Agricultural Extension has been established since the inception of Balochistan Agriculture College, Quetta in 1987. Up till now the Department has produced a large number of Graduate & Post-Graduate students who are serving in all nation building departments. The Department offers B.Sc. (Hons.) Agriculture and M.Sc. (Hons.) Agriculture Degree Programs.
The Department of Agricultural Extension prepares students to overcome farming problems systematically and objectively, and to come up with practical solutions. It seeks to equip students for a wide range of roles in the private sector as well as in public sector. The goal of Agriculture Extension is to improve the quality of our farmers’ life through sustainable agriculture. This necessitates a change in his attitudes and practices if they constrain his production or degrade his productive resources. The Department of Agriculture Extension is playing a crucial role in the development of agriculture sector – not only by disseminating recommended technology among the farming community, but also by bringing back the farmers’ problems to the researchers. To bring about a change in attitude of farmers is a basic educational function of Agricultural Extension Department.
