Main Responsibilities

Responsibilities of QEC by the Guideline of HEC are as follows:

  1. QEC will be responsible for promoting public confidence that the quality and standards of the award of degrees are enhanced and safeguarded.
  2. QEC will be responsible for the review of quality standards and the quality of teaching, learning in each subject area.
  3. QEC will be responsible for the review of academic affiliations with other institutions in terms of effective management of standards and quality of programs.
  4. QEC will be responsible for defining clear and explicit standards as points of reference to the reviews to be carried out. It should also help the employees to know as to what they could expect from candidates.
  5. QEC is responsible to develop qualifications framework by setting out the attributes and abilities that can be expected from the holder of a qualification, i.e. Bachelor with Honours, Master's/ M. Phil.
  6. QEC will be responsible to develop program specifications. These are standard set of information clarifying what knowledge, understanding, skills and other attributes a student will have developed on successfully completing a specific program.
  7. QEC is responsible to develop quality assurance processes and methods of evaluation to affirm that the quality of provision and the standard of awards are being maintained and to promote curriculum, subject and staff development, together with research and other scholarly activities.
  8. QEC is responsible to ensure that the college's quality assurance procedures are designed to fit in with the arrangements in place nationally for maintaining and improving the quality of Higher Education.
QEC will be responsible to develop procedures for the following:
  1. Approval of new program.
  2. Annual monitoring and evaluation including program monitoring, faculty monitoring, and student perceptions.
  3. Departmental review, Student feedback and Employer feedback.
  4. Quality assurance of Bachelor with Honours and Master's/      M. Phil.  degree programs.
  5. Subject review, Institutional assessment and Program specifications.
  6. Qualification framework.

Action Plan

The QEC has the following action plan:

  1. The collection of informative data for the faculty members of all departments in Balochistan Agriculture College, Quetta.
  2. The collection of initial data for enrolled students in all the disciplines for different programs in the College.
  3. To conduct the awareness workshop on self assessment for faculty in Balochistan Agriculture College, Quetta.
  4. To start the self assessment exercise at three departments. It will consist of:
  • Formation of Program Teams (PTs).
  • Dissemination of assessment proformas.
  • Compilation of PT report.
  • Formation of Assessment Teams (ATs).
  • Compilation of Assessment Team Reports.

   v. Reporting the finalized Self Assessment Report (SAR) to the Principal Balochistan Agriculture College for further necessary actions and submission to Quality Assurance Agency/HEC.


Within the context of Mission Statement, the following are the objective to be fulfilled:

  1. To improve the quality and capacity-building of faculty, supporting staff, academic programs and support services.
  2. To ensure that stated student outcomes of all departments are realized.
  3. To take collective responsibilities for ensuring that adequate system for quality enhancement have been developed and are in place.
  4. Seeking collaboration in various fields of common interest with local and international bodies.
  5. Promoting the confidence of the public by ensuring that the standards and quality of education are enhanced.
