OVERVIEW

The Directorate of Advanced Studies & Research of Balochistan Agriculture College, Quetta performs a variety of functions to promote research, extension and advisory services in the college.

The Directorate consisted of the following senior most faculty of the college:

  1. Dr. Muhammad Sharif (Director)
  2. Dr. Muhammad Amin (Member)
  3. Dr. Ghulam Rasool (Member)

The Directorate of Advanced Studies& Research has been established in 2006 to strengthen the functioning of different programs that have been either already launched at all academic disciplines or to be launched in near future .This Directorate has been given the mandate to facilitate all the Post graduate students for their admission, enrollment, approval of supervisory committees, approval of synopsis, approval and organization of defense of synopsis and thesis. Prof. Amjad Ali, Chairman Department of Agricultural Extension has been assigned the charge of Director Advanced Studies& Research in 2008.The Directorate of Advanced Studies & Research has also been entrusted with the task to prepare and recommend new rules and procedure to further strengthen and improve the academic discipline in the light of different directive and precedents of Higher Education Commission (HEC) of Pakistan. This Directorate is striving hard for achieving excellence and ensuring authenticity, transparency, competitiveness and timely completion of all degree programs within stipulated period.

OBJECTIVES

The major objectives of the Directorate are to: 

  • Advise the authorities on all matters connected with the promotion of advanced studies, publication and research in the college.
  • Propose regulations regarding the award of research degrees.
  • Appoint supervisors for research students and determine the subjects of their thesis.
  • Recommend panels of names of paper setters and examiners for research thesis.
  • Perform such other functions as may be prescribed by the statues.
